Gentle and Chair Yoga

Yoga adds years to your life

Gentle and chair yoga can be beneficial for students with limited mobility, balance concerns, or want to practice yoga at work.  Many yoga poses can be done seated but still provide all the benefits of a more active practice.

Yin Yoga

“You may not be able to control the world, but you may learn to control your inner world through yoga”

Yin yoga is a slow-paced form of yoga where poses are held for longer periods of time. It focuses on deep connective tissue like fascia, ligaments, and joints. Most Yin poses are done sitting on a mat with many options available to make them comfortable for students of all abilities.


Restorative Yoga

“It’s not about being good at something, it’s about being good to yourself”

Restorative yoga is a soothing form of yoga that uses props like blocks, bolsters, straps, and blankets to allow the body to relax. Restorative yoga is an excellent practice for a student that is looking to slow down, relieve stress, calm an active mind, or for someone who is recovering from an injury.

Yoga Nidra

The body benefits from movement. The mind benefits from stillness”

Yoga Nidra is also known as yogic sleep and can be a powerful meditation technique for controlling the body’s relaxation response.  While the practice can be as restorative as sleep you remain fully awake. Verbal instructions assist your body to melt into a soothing state of being.

As someone new to yoga, I appreciate the time that Cindy takes to ensure that my poses and breathing are done properly. I also love that Cindy continuously introduces new methods specifically tailored to meet my individual needs for the health and well being of my body, mind, and spirit.

During these unprecedented times of Covid -19 pandemic, Cindy’s top priority is our safety. She is always on the forefront of ensuring sanitization and social distancing with a manageable class size that is held outdoors in a beautiful setting.

I have truly enjoyed and benefited from this new experience in my life, and I have Firebird Yoga to thank for it. Cindy, thank you for honoring, respecting, and loving the light in me!

Yoga with Cindy is an extra special treat. She is so good at connecting with others: bringing communities and people together – creating a welcoming and inviting practice to all. I savor every minute with her!!

Because of her great love of learning and continually growing her own practice, she cues each pose nicely so we can do them safely. She educates herself on needs of those in the class and builds poses on what we know – expanding that knowledge over time. Her classes are fun, creative, and purposeful – suitable for all ages and practice levels.

Cindy is awe-inspiring!  Practicing with her has helped me reconnect with myself and helps me celebrate where I am in this moment. I have been taking yoga classes off and on for many years, and just started with Cindy 3 months ago. I have learned so much more from her than I thought possible in such a short time. Cindy is such a great instructor taking the time to show us the correct posture with each pose, as well as how to breathe when doing our poses.
